Domain Michel Bouzereau Meursault Charmes Dessus 2009 Bottle (75cl)
The 2009 Domaine Michel Bouzereau Meursault Charmes Dessus is a Burgundy white wine from the Charmes premier cru in the Meursault appellation. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, it originates from a 0.51-hectare plot with clay-limestone soils dominated by magnesian limestone, planted between 1960 and 1997. The cuvée is aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels, 25% of which are new oak, an aging process that highlights the structure and precision of this Meursault 1er Cru.

Histoire du domaine
The Bouzereau family is based in Meursault and has been cultivating vines there for seven generations. Michel Bouzereau initially worked alongside his father Robert and his brother Pierre, until the two brothers went their separate ways in 1971. He then began bottling the wine on the estate, at a time when a significant proportion of Burgundy wines were still sold in bulk. Over the years, he expanded the vineyard he had inherited from his father. His son Jean-Baptiste joined the estate in the 1990s and trained alongside him for nearly ten years. In 1999, Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau took over the management of the family estate, which at that time comprised 10.5 hectares. A new building was constructed in 2008 and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire estate has been based at 5 Rue Robert-Thénard in Meursault. The Burgundy Wine Board currently lists the estate’s cultivated area as 12.5 hectares, comprising 10.8 hectares of white grape varieties and 1.7 hectares of red grape varieties. Michel Bouzereau passed away on 16 July 2026.
Charmes (Meursault)
Charmes is a Premier Cru climat of Meursault, located south of the village near the border with Puligny-Montrachet. It encompasses the lieux-dits Les Charmes-Dessus and Les Charmes-Dessous and forms the largest Premier Cru climat in Meursault. Situated in the middle and lower part of the slope, it has a predominantly east to south-east exposure. Sources describe clay-limestone, stony soils resting notably on hard Jurassic limestones and marly limestones.

Histoire de la parcelle
Les Charmes-Dessus and Les Charmes-Dessous appear in the historical land registry of Meursault and are documented in particular by the maps from the Napoleonic cadastre preserved in the departmental archives of Côte-d’Or. Their unification under the climat name Charmes was consecrated by the delimitation of the Meursault Premier Cru appellation.
