Histoire du domaine
The vine has been cultivated at Belle-Brise since the 18th century, but the wine long remained reserved for the family and their close circle. Henri-Bruno de Coincy acquired the property in 1991 and subsequently undertook its commercialization. Coming from a family linked for several centuries to the production of armagnac, he had to contend from his very first vintage with the frost of 1991, followed by several difficult Bordeaux harvests in the early 1990s. As both owner and winemaker, he progressively developed an artisanal method based on native yeasts, concrete vats, and aging in 400-litre barrels. The vineyard retains vines dating back to before the 1956 frost as well as plants propagated from these ancient vines.
Les Cèdres de Belle Brise
Pomerol red wine marketed under a proper name by Château Belle Brise and produced by Henri-Bruno de Coincy. It relies on a documented blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc and clearly stands out from the wine simply bearing the name Château Belle Brise.
