Jean Michel Gerin La Landonne 2020 Bottle (75cl)
The 2020 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne from Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin is a Rhône Valley red wine crafted from 100% Syrah. This cuvée comes from a 0.4-hectare parcel located in La Landonne, on schist and mica-schist soils marked by the presence of iron oxides. The vines, planted between 1989 and 1991, yield a wine aged for 22 months, combining new barrels and barrels of one or two wines. The estate describes a dense, fine, and elegant expression, endowed with the substance characteristic of Côte-Rôtie.

Histoire du domaine
The Gérin family has been established in Ampuis for six generations. Jean-Michel Gérin founded the estate in 1983 following the purchase of a plot in Côte-Rôtie, then produced his first bottle in 1987 after taking over the family vines of his grandfather Marcel and his father Alfred. In 1988, he carried out the first separate vinification of the lieu-dit Les Grandes Places; La Landonne followed in 1996. A fermentation vat room and barrel cellar were built in the early 1990s, followed by a bottle storage building in 2000. The planting of La Viallière began in 2003 on slopes reaching nearly 60%, before the release of the first bottles in 2009. A new winemaking facility was built in 2014, and Côte-Bodin was isolated for the first time in 2018. The conversion of the entire vineyard to organic farming was initiated in 2020, with certification acquired starting from the 2023 vintage. Michaël and Alexis Gérin, sons of the founder, currently manage the estate.
