Jean-Marc Bouley Pommard 2018 Bouteille (75cl)
The 2018 Jean-Marc Bouley Pommard is a 100% Pinot Noir red Burgundy from the Pommard appellation. Classified as a Village wine, it comes from three parcels located high on the slope, with an east-facing exposure on shallow, rock-based clay-limestone soils. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, then vinified in open vats for approximately 17 to 21 days. Aging lasts for 20 months in oak barrels, of which 30% are new wood.

Histoire du domaine
The Bouley family's presence in the Volnay terroir has been documented by La Revue du vin de France since 1527. The chronology published by the estate begins in 1919, when François Bouley took over the management of the family vineyard. His son Christian succeeded him in 1948. Jean-Marc Bouley established his own winery in 1974, initially consisting of 2.5 hectares under a sharecropping agreement according to Le Figaro Vin, and then integrated his father's vines into it in 1984. Thomas Bouley joined the estate in 2002 after training in oenology and took over its management in 2012. Today, he is the legal manager of the operating company, while Jean-Marc Bouley remains a partner. The estate now farms 8.8 hectares across 29 parcels; a new winery, started in 2015, became operational for the 2016 harvest.
