Sassicaia 2003 Bouteille (75cl) ELA
The Sassicaia 2003 from Tenuta San Guido is a red wine from Bolgheri in Tuscany, crafted from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. This warm and dry vintage led to early ripening; harvest took place in early September and lasted about three weeks. Fermentation and malolactic fermentation were carried out in stainless steel tanks with nearly two weeks of maceration, followed by aging for 24 months in French oak barrels and subsequent bottle refinement. Wine Spectator awarded it 92/100 and recommended enjoying it from 2008. The publication describes a full-bodied and generous Sassicaia, driven by raspberry and cherry, with a velvety texture, a long finish, and a hint of new oak.
