Gerard Bertrand Clos d Ora 2020 Bouteille (75cl)
Gérard Bertrand Clos d’Ora 2020 is a red wine from Languedoc, produced in the Minervois appellation from the Clos d’Ora vineyard. It blends syrah, grenache noir, mourvèdre and carignan. The vines are farmed biodynamically with Demeter certification; harvesting is done by hand and each grape variety, like each parcel, is vinified separately in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The syrah is destemmed before vinification, whereas the carignan is vatted as whole bunches; macerations are conducted with a deliberately gentle extraction. Rated 95/100 by James Suckling, this vintage is best enjoyed starting in 2025. Critics describe a dense palate framed by fine tannins, driven by dark berries, dried herbs, spices and a hint of roasted meat.
