Histoire du domaine
The Roulot family has been based in Meursault since the late 18th century. The estate, in its modern form, developed primarily from the 1950s onwards under the leadership of Guy Roulot, born in 1929. His marriage to Geneviève Coche coincided with the expansion of the family’s wine-growing estate. Guy Roulot played a key role in promoting the separate bottling of wines from several ‘lieux-dits’ in Meursault. Following his death in 1982, the estate was temporarily managed by a succession of winemakers. His son Jean-Marc Roulot, who was then pursuing a career as an actor in Paris, finally took over the estate in January 1989. He continued to expand the vineyard and converted the vines to organic farming from 1999 onwards. The estate is now run by Jean-Marc Roulot, with Éric Bodin as cellar master and head of winemaking at his side.
Les Champs Fulliots
Les Champs Fulliots is a Monthélie climat officially classified as Premier Cru, located in the southern sector of the commune, near the borders of Volnay and Meursault. It adjoins or extends the sectors of Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Chênes and Meursault Premier Cru Les Caillerets. Its exposure is south to south-south-east. Consistent descriptions indicate a shallow clay-limestone soil, often red, dry, and resting directly on limestone bedrock.
