Histoire du domaine
Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair was founded in 1986 by Jean-Louis Fougeray. Its name combines that of his wife, née Beauvais, and that of Bernard Clair, a winegrower involved in the establishment of the estate. The estate developed from vineyards located in Burgundy, particularly around Marsannay and Fixin. In the late 1990s, Jean-Louis Fougeray also acquired vineyards in the Hérault region, under the Val Grieux label. Patrice Ollivier, Jean-Louis Fougeray’s son-in-law, took over the management of the estate in 1999. The Burgundian vineyards were subsequently taken over by Frédéric Magnien, a winemaker from Morey-Saint-Denis, in 2021. The estate is now administratively based in Morey-Saint-Denis and its winemaking follows the principles applied by the Magnien estate, including certified biodynamic cultivation.
Bonnes-Mares
Bonnes-Mares is a physically delineated Grand Cru of the Côte de Nuits, split between Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, with the largest portion located in Chambolle-Musigny. The vineyard forms approximately a rectangle south of Clos de Tart, on a gently sloping hillside with an easterly exposure. The light, gravelly, brown to reddish soils containing clay with flint rest on Jurassic limestone and white marl.

- Origin of the vineyard name
- Name attested since the late Middle Ages, of uncertain etymology. The BIVB favors the hypothesis of the old verb "marer", meaning to cultivate with care, rather than a reference to mother goddesses.

Histoire de la parcelle
