Domaine Hubert De Montille
Domaine de Montille is a family-run estate based in Volnay, in the Côte-d’Or, whose vineyards now extend across the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Owned and managed by Étienne de Montille, it cultivates 37 hectares, predominantly in Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, across appellations such as Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Vosne-Romanée. Histoire du domaine
The estate’s origins date back to the 1730s, when the Chauvelot de Chevannes family, who owned vineyards, settled in Volnay. The estate took the name Domaine de Montille in 1863, following the marriage of Marie Éléonore Chauvelot de Chevannes to Étienne Joseph Marie Léonce Bizouard de Montille. In the 19th century, the estate comprised around 30 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. However, the consequences of the phylloxera crisis and a series of sales reduced the estate’s holdings to around 2.5 hectares by the end of the Second World War. Hubert de Montille took over the estate in 1947 and set about gradually rebuilding the family vineyard, whilst producing and marketing his wines himself rather than selling the grapes to wine merchants. His son Étienne joined the estate in 1983, before becoming co-manager and head of winemaking in 1995, the year in which the transition to organic farming began. He took full charge of the estate in 2002 and subsequently expanded the vineyard, notably through the acquisition of plots in the Côte de Nuits between 2003 and 2005. In 2012, the estate acquired the Château de Puligny-Montrachet, adding around 15 hectares of white grape vineyards to its holdings. The vineyard now covers 37 hectares, and winemaking is overseen in the cellar by Brian Sieve, the cellar master, with Jacques Montagnon responsible for the white wine production processes.
Les Pézerolles
Les Pézerolles is a climat and lieu-dit in Pommard, the entirety of which is officially classified as a Premier Cru. It is located to the north of the village, on the Beaune side, immediately south of the Lulunne valley and above Les Petits Epenots, in the lower to middle section of the winegrowing slope. The site features a southeast exposure, a pronounced slope, and relatively shallow stony soils resting primarily on Jurassic limestone and marl formations.

- Pommard
- Origin of the vineyard name
- The name is attested in the 13th century in the forms "Poizerolles" then "Pesserolles". A documented etymology links it to the Old French "pèze", meaning chickpea, a crop that is said to have coexisted with the vine; another tradition associates it with an ancient Pézerolle family from Pommard.

Histoire de la parcelle
The site is mentioned as early as the 13th century under the names "Poizerolles" then "Pesserolles"; the bailiff Jacques de Pommard owned twenty ouvrées of vines there in 1280. Around 1700, the Brunet family, holders of a significant portion of the site, adopted the name Brunet de Pézerolles. A middle section of the climat was formerly known as "Clos de Pézerolles". Les Pézerolles is among the Pommard climats officially recognized as Premier Cru in the appellation's product specification.
