Histoire du domaine
The Perrot-Minot estate is based in Morey-Saint-Denis in buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. According to the history published by the estate, the origins of the family’s wine-making business date back to the mid-18th century, with Étienne de Mermety and Louise Le Breton des Chapelles. The estate was subsequently passed down through marriages and inheritance amongst several families based in the Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny areas. At the end of the 19th century, Esther Morizot and Amédée Merme marked an important stage in this lineage. Their son, Alexandre Armand Merme, went on to run the estate in the 20th century. Marie-France Merme, Armand’s daughter, married Henri Perrot-Minot, thereby introducing the Perrot-Minot name into the family business. In 1993, their son Christophe Perrot-Minot took over the management of the estate after working for seven years as a wine broker. He is now in charge of running the estate and overseeing the winemaking process. The official website states that the vineyard currently covers 8 hectares and is certified organic.
Mazoyères-Chambertin
Mazoyères-Chambertin is a red Grand Cru appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin corresponding to a physically demarcated terroir on the foothills of the Côte de Nuits. Its area covers plots located in the lieux-dits "Aux Charmes" and "Mazoyères" and coincides with that of Charmes-Chambertin, a name usually claimed. The vineyard occupies a slight plateau between 260 and 280 meters, exposed to the rising sun and characterized by gentle slopes. The soils, shallow and well-draining, rest on a complex geology combining Bajocian limestones, tertiary formations, and calcareous clay-gravel materials.

Histoire de la parcelle
The reputation of the climats "Aux Charmes" and "Mazoyères", neighbors of Chambertin, is attested as early as the 18th century. Jules Lavalle classified them in 1855, partly as first cuvée and partly as second cuvée. A judgment by the tribunal of Dijon in 1931 recognized the appellation of origin for wines from Mazoyères, set their boundaries, and authorized the addition of the name "Chambertin". The AOC Mazoyères-Chambertin was officially recognized by the decree of July 31, 1937.
