Delas La Landonne 2005
The 2005 Delas La Landonne is a red Côte-Rôtie wine produced by Domaine Delas Frères in the Rhône Valley. This single-plot cuvée, exclusively from the La Landonne lieu-dit, is made from 100% Syrah. Histoire du domaine
The company traces its origins to the Junique wine merchant’s firm, established in Tournon-sur-Rhône in 1835. In 1870, Philippe Delas and Charles Audibert went into partnership and took over the business, which was then working with local winegrowers. In 1924, Henri and Florentin Delas took over the company and renamed it Delas Frères. Michel Delas subsequently expanded its commercial activities, particularly in exports, from the 1960s onwards. In 1977, the Champagne house Deutz acquired a stake in the company and the production site was moved to Saint-Jean-de-Muzols. In 1993, Delas Frères and Deutz joined the Rouzaud family group, owners of Louis Roederer. Fabrice Rosset took over as managing director of Delas Frères in 1996, and Jacques Grange was appointed technical director the following year. In 2006, the house acquired 18 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage, bringing the total area it cultivates directly to 30 hectares. A new winery, dedicated in particular to single-vineyard winemaking, was inaugurated in Tain-l’Hermitage in 2020. Jacques Grange remains in charge of the house’s winemaking operations.
