Clos Marie
Located in Lauret, on the foothills of Pic Saint-Loup, Clos Marie is run by Françoise Julien and Christophe Peyrus across 23 hectares of vines. The estate notably crafts the Métairies du Clos cuvée and produces around 90,000 bottles per year, split between reds, whites, and rosés. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, and its wines are vinified by the two winemakers.

Histoire du domaine
Clos Marie was established in 1994 from around ten hectares of vines belonging to Marie, the grandmother of Françoise Julien, whose first name the estate kept. Before this creation, the grapes from the family parcels were delivered to the local cooperative. Françoise Julien and Christophe Peyrus took over the estate in the mid-1990s, with a first bottling in 1995, and then progressively developed the vineyard up to 23 hectares. Established in Lauret, at the foot of Pic Saint-Loup, Clos Marie has remained associated with the two winemakers, co-owners and winemakers of the estate.
Métairies du Clos
Métairies du Clos is a distinct red cuvée from Clos Marie, marketed under the Pic-Saint-Loup appellation. It comes from old vines, notably Carignan, blended with Grenache and Syrah on clay-limestone soils. It is distinguished by its concentration, structure, and overall aging potential.
- Style of the cuvée
- Deep, structured red, combining ripe fruit, spicy character, and garrigue expression, with assertive tannins and a profile designed to evolve in the bottle.
- Position within the range
- Grand old-vine cuvée, positioned below Les Glorieuses among the estate's ageworthy reds.
Histoire de la cuvée
The cuvée has been documented over several vintages since at least 2000, but its exact creation date and the origin of its name have not been found in an accessible official source.
