Histoire du domaine
Château Rol Valentin is a wine estate historically mentioned in various editions of the Féret guide, although no precise date of foundation has been established by the sources consulted. In 1994, Éric Prissette, a former professional footballer, acquired a 2-hectare vineyard to the north-west of the Saint-Émilion plateau. He then gradually expanded the vineyard’s area to 7.3 hectares. In 2009, he sold the property to Alexandra and Nicolas Robin. The couple are directly involved in the work in the vineyard and the winery. A new gravity-fed winery, designed following two years of construction work, was completed in 2020. The estate now cultivates 7.3 hectares in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse. Château Rol Valentin was included amongst the grands crus classés of Saint-Émilion in the classification approved on 8 September 2022. Stéphane Derenoncourt is listed by the estate as a consultant oenologist; no sufficiently explicit source identifies a separate cellar master or person directly responsible for winemaking.
