Histoire du domaine
Château Roc de Cambes is a historic estate situated near the citadel of Bourg, within the Côtes-de-Bourg appellation. The property comprises a cellar dating from the 14th century and a vineyard laid out in an amphitheatre-like formation on the hillsides facing the Gironde. François Mitjavile and his wife Miloute acquired the estate in 1988. François Mitjavile was already known as the owner of Château Tertre Rotebœuf, in Saint-Émilion. The estate is run under the SCEA Famille Mitjavile structure, which brings together members of the family. The area declared by the Côtes de Bourg wine-growers’ association is 12 hectares. The grape varieties reported by this body consist mainly of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. According to a recent professional source, François and Louis Mitjavile are responsible for winemaking, whilst secondary sources also cite Nina Mitjavile as managing the estate.
