Histoire du domaine
Château Le Gay was for about sixty years the property of Thérèse and Marie Robin, also known in Pomerol for the motto inherited from their father: "Quality surpasses quantity." In 2002, Catherine Péré-Vergé acquired the property and initiated a complete renovation: construction of a new vat room and barrel cellar, restoration of the estate house, and planting of four hectares of previously unplanted parcels. The facilities were designed to work by gravity and limit pumping. Henri Parent, son of Catherine Péré-Vergé, then took over the management of the estate. Starting in 2013, he launched new works to generalize the complete barrel vinification for the first wine; the cellar was organized into three temperature-controlled rooms specifically allowing for cold pre-fermentation macerations. The second wine, Manoir de Gay, continues to be vinified in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The estate is now attached to Vignobles Parent, and Henri Parent is the owner-manager.
