Histoire du domaine
The family estate in Budos was once dedicated to mixed farming before the vine gradually became its main activity. Michel Courbin carried out the first estate-bottling operations in 1972. His son Franck, holding a BTS in Viticulture-Oenology from the Bordeaux-Blanquefort agricultural high school, joined the business in 2000, then took over the management of the estate in 2006 when it was structured as SCEA Courbin et Fils. His brother Stéphane, with the same background, joined him in 2008. In 2014, the estate joined the Bordeaux Wine Environmental Management System and obtained High Environmental Value (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification in 2019. That same year, the former name Château L’Hermitage was replaced by Domaine Courbin Héritage to emphasize family continuity. No reliable source consulted establishes a link between this Budos property and the Château La Garelle wine mentioned in the database.
