Histoire du domaine
Fieuzal’s winemaking origins date back more than four centuries, when the site was cultivated by small-scale winegrowers in the Graves. The de Fieuzal family gave their name to the estate and remained its owners until 1851. At the end of the 19th century, the Ricard family acquired the property and retained ownership until 1974. During this period, in 1959, the estate was awarded the Graves Grand Cru classification for its red wine. After several changes of ownership, the Banque Populaire group acquired Château de Fieuzal in 1994 and the neighbouring Haut-Gardère in 1995, thereby restoring the historic vineyard. Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, Irish owners, purchased the estate in 2001. Stephen Carrier joined the estate’s management team in 2007 and remains directly responsible for winemaking. The winemaking facilities underwent a major refurbishment, completed in 2011, featuring equipment made of wood, concrete and stainless steel.
