Histoire du domaine
The name Destieux derives from the hamlet of ‘Des Yeux’, situated on the heights of Saint-Hippolyte, from where the vineyard overlooks the Dordogne valley. The Dauriac family acquired Château Destieux in 1971. Christian Dauriac, an oenologist and biological scientist, carried out the first wine-making on this estate in 1976. The estate’s cellars and equipment were modernised in 1999. In 2006, the château was awarded Grand Cru Classé status in the Saint-Émilion classification. Christian Dauriac remains the owner of Vignobles Dauriac, which also comprises Château Montlisse in Saint-Émilion and Château La Clémence in Pomerol. Winemaking and technical management are now the responsibility of Baptiste Munné, technical director, cellar master and vineyard manager.
