Histoire du domaine
The estate was founded in 1862 under the name Château Couperie. Marcel Dassault acquired it in 1955, named it after himself and undertook the replanting of the vineyard as well as the modernisation of the facilities. Château Dassault was classified as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 1969. The family’s wine-growing estate expanded with the acquisition of Château La Fleur in 2002, followed by Château Faurie de Souchard in 2013. Dassault Wine Estates and the Société d’Exploitation des Vignobles Dassault were established in 2014 to bring together and manage the family’s wine-growing estates. In 2022, the Faurie de Souchard vineyard was integrated into Château Dassault’s production. Dassault Wine Estates, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dassault Group, now manages the Saint-Émilion vineyards under the general management of Valérie Befve, with Jérôme Gauthier as technical director. Bastien Ferronato has been appointed cellar master by the estate.
