Bruno Giacosa
Located in Neive, the Bruno Giacosa estate brings together the wines of the Azienda Agricola Falletto, produced from its own vineyards, and those of the Casa Vinicola, crafted from grapes selected from partner winegrowers. A historic benchmark for Barolo and Barbaresco, it is led today by Bruna Giacosa, in continuity with the demanding, parcel-by-parcel work developed by her father.

Histoire du domaine
Bruno Giacosa, born in Neive in 1929, represented the third generation of a family active in the grape and wine trade. He joined the family business at a very young age during the Second World War and, as a wine merchant, acquired an in-depth knowledge of the crus and growers of the Langhe. The first vintage commercialized under his name was 1961. From the 1960s onwards, he helped establish the parcel expression of Barbaresco, notably with the 1964 Barbaresco Vigna Santo Stefano. Long dedicated to purchasing carefully selected grapes, he became a vineyard owner in the early 1980s with the acquisition of the Falletto cru in Serralunga d'Alba, later adding parcels in Asili and Rabajà in the Barbaresco zone. His daughter Bruna gradually took over the management of the company starting in 2006. Bruno Giacosa passed away on January 21, 2018; Bruna Giacosa has since continued to run the estate, accompanied by long-standing oenologist Dante Scaglione.

Histoire de la cuvée
The first documented bottling dates back to 1974. Bruno Giacosa subsequently produced the Barolo Bussia di Monforte Riserva Speciale in 1975, 1978, and 1979, with no documented continuity after this series. The choice of the red label and the Riserva Speciale mention signaled a selection reserved by Giacosa for wines he deemed exceptional.
