The 2005 Tardieu Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is a red wine from the Gigondas appellation in the Rhône Valley, produced by Domaine Tardieu. Jancis Robinson awards it 17/20 and recommends drinking between 2011 and 2020. The critic describes a very ripe and generous wine with notes evoking plum and liqueur, featuring a round palate, very fine tannins, and a pronounced alcoholic expression.

Domaine Tardieu
Maison Tardieu-Laurent is a family-run micro-négociant based in Lourmarin, specializing in the great appellations of the Rhône Valley. Without owning its own vineyards, the house selects grapes and wines from partner growers, particularly from old vines, and then oversees their aging, blending, and bottling. Winemaker Bastien Tardieu now manages operations alongside his sister Camille.

Histoire du domaine
Michel Tardieu, then a civil servant and passionate about Rhône terroirs, partnered with the Burgundian Dominique Laurent to create a negociant activity inspired by the Burgundian model. An initial production of around 9,000 bottles was made in 1994; the official website marks 1996 as the founding year of Tardieu-Laurent in Lourmarin. The house distinguishes itself through early involvement with partner winegrowers: monitoring parcels and harvests, supplying its own barrels, and then aging and blending in its Luberon cellar. Following the departure of Dominique Laurent, the company continued its development centered around Michel and Michèle Tardieu, joined by their children Bastien, an oenologist, and Camille. The EPI group subsequently acquired a stake in the company as part of a partnership. In 2025, Bastien Tardieu took over operational management of the house from his father, while he and Camille represent the new family generation.
