Histoire du domaine
The Duroché family’s history in winemaking in Gevrey-Chambertin dates back to 1906, when Louis Duroché was recorded as a winegrower and owner. His son Émile continued the family business during the first half of the 20th century. In 1954, Philippe Duroché, Louis’s grandson, expanded the estate with his wife Odile, who herself came from a family of winegrowers. The couple gradually built up a five-hectare vineyard through the purchase and exchange of plots. Gilles Duroché then continued this expansion, increasing the estate’s area to 8.5 hectares through the acquisition of new plots and appellations. Pierre Duroché took over the running of the estate in 2003, at the age of 21. Together with Marianne Duroché, he now manages the estate and oversees the winemaking. Since 2017, they have also been running a separate wine-trading business, vinifying grapes sourced from Marianne’s family’s vineyards and those of other winegrowers.
