Histoire du domaine
The château was originally named Lestage; the Simon family added their name to that of the estate during the 1932 classification of the crus bourgeois. Charles Simon took over the management of the estate in 1972 and set about consolidating the previously scattered plots in order to reconstitute the vineyard. Upon his death in 2001, his heirs sold the property to the Jean Leprince group. Management of the estate was then entrusted to Merete Larsen, previously estate manager at Château Belgrave. The property joined the Grands Chais de France group in 2007. It is now owned by the Château Lestage-Simon GFV, established in 2001, with the land leased on a long-term basis. The Société Fermière des Grands Crus de France manages the vineyard operations. Michel Rolland and Julien Viaud act as oenological consultants; the sources consulted do not allow us to identify with certainty who is directly responsible for the winemaking. The château is listed in the 2025 classification of the Médoc’s Crus Bourgeois at the Cru Bourgeois Supérieur level.
