Histoire du domaine
Château La Clare was recognized in the first Cru Bourgeois classification of 1932, and confirmed again in the 1978 classification. The property belonged to Paul de Rozières from 1960 to 2001. In that latter year, it was acquired by Jean Guyon and joined Domaines Rollan de By, a wine estate group he has been developing in the northern Médoc since purchasing his first two hectares in Bégadan in 1989. La Clare covers 10 contiguous hectares on a ridge in Bégadan. Vinification is now integrated into the technical organization of Domaines Rollan de By, where Nicolas Méro is noted as cellar master.
