La Bélière Baron Philippe de Rothschild
La Bélière is a wine brand produced and marketed by Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., a company based in Pauillac. It forms part of the company’s portfolio of Bordeaux wine brands, whose wines are sourced from selections made from partner winegrowers and, depending on the cuvée, from the group’s own vineyards. La Bélière does not correspond to an independent wine estate with a specific vineyard.

Histoire du domaine
La Bélière is a brand of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. and not the name of a château or an independent wine estate. Its history is therefore part of that of this Pauillac-based company. Baron Philippe de Rothschild took over the management of Château Mouton Rothschild in 1922. He created Mouton Cadet in 1930, then in 1933 acquired a small wine merchant’s firm in Pauillac, which became the basis for the current company, Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. The company subsequently developed a branded wines business, alongside the management of its châteaux and estates. La Bélière is now one of its Bordeaux brands. For these wines, the company’s teams select wines or plots from partner winegrowers and the group’s own vineyards, before carrying out the blending, ageing and bottling at the Mouton Cadet Wine Centre in Saint-Laurent-Médoc. This winery opened in 1993. Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. is currently chaired and managed by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild. The sources consulted do not allow us to identify a specific individual responsible for the winemaking process for La Bélière itself.
