Jura Distillery
Jura Distillery is the only whisky distillery on the Scottish island of Jura, located in Craighouse facing the Sound of Jura. Rebuilt in the 1960s, it produces a single malt with a generally fruity and balanced profile, thanks in particular to its exceptionally tall copper stills. Production is led by Kirsty Sligo, the first female Distillery Manager in the history of the house.

Histoire du domaine
The distillery was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, then laird of the island of Jura, under the name Small Isles Distillery, and later obtained its official license in 1831. James Ferguson & Sons took control of it in 1876 and invested in modernizing the facilities. Faced with declining demand, the distillery closed in 1901 and remained inactive for over six decades. Its rebirth was initiated in 1960 by landowner Robin Fletcher and entrepreneur Tony Riley-Smith, who entrusted William Delme-Evans with the design of a new facility on the historic site. Reopened in 1963, it stands out for its very tall stills, designed to produce a lighter and fruitier distillate, and contributes to sustaining the island's activity and population. Jura Distillery was acquired by Whyte & Mackay in 1994. Kirsty Sligo is currently the Distillery Manager, while the creation of the brand's expressions is also overseen by the Whyte & Mackay whisky team, led by Kirstie McCallum.
