Histoire du domaine
Jean-Luc Colombo acquired his first plot in the early 1980s on the granite-rich slopes overlooking Cornas. Together with Anne Colombo, he founded the Centre Œnologique des Côtes du Rhône in Cornas in 1984, a consultancy organisation serving estates in the Rhône Valley and Provence. The first vintage of Cornas Les Ruchets was produced in 1987. Over the years, the business has expanded to include vineyards in the northern Rhône and the Mediterranean region, alongside a wine merchant operation. The family estate is now run by Jean-Luc and Anne Colombo, together with their daughter Laure. Trained in viticulture and oenology, Laure Colombo joined the estate in 2010. In 2012, she initiated the process of obtaining organic certification for the estate, which was granted from the 2015 vintage onwards. The sources consulted estimate the estate’s annual production at around 60,000 bottles, but the published figures for vineyard areas vary too widely across different sources to arrive at a single, definitive figure.
