La Potazzine
Founded in 1993 in Montalcino by Gigliola Giannetti, Tenuta Le Potazzine is a family-run estate managed alongside her daughters Viola and Sofia Gorelli. Its five hectares of Sangiovese, spread between Le Prata and Sant'Angelo in Colle, primarily produce Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Paolo Salvi oversees vinification, based on spontaneous fermentations and aging in large Slavonian oak casks.

Histoire du domaine
Tenuta Le Potazzine was established in 1993, the birth year of Viola, the eldest daughter of Gigliola Giannetti. The name "Potazzine", a term used in Montalcino to describe small birds of the Tuscan countryside, originates from the affectionate nickname given by their maternal grandmother to Viola and her sister Sofia. In 1996, the birth year of Sofia, the estate expanded with the addition of two hectares in Sant'Angelo in Colle. The estate's vineyards now cover five hectares registered for Brunello di Montalcino: one part is located around the cellar in Le Prata, at an altitude of about 507 meters, and the other in the La Torre sector, near Sant'Angelo in Colle, at about 420 meters. Gigliola Giannetti now runs the estate with Viola and Sofia Gorelli. Since 2017, Paolo Salvi has served as oenologist and head of vinification. Production, around 35,000 bottles per year, is mainly divided between Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, with a Riserva produced only in certain years deemed particularly favorable.
