Italy Argiano Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 1994
The 1994 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino is a Tuscan red wine crafted by the Argiano estate in the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. Made entirely from Sangiovese (100%), it originates from an estate established in the southwest of Montalcino, on a plateau situated at around 300 meters of altitude. This cuvée thus combines Argiano's historical identity with the strictly single-varietal expression of Brunello di Montalcino.

Histoire du domaine
Argiano is first mentioned in 813 in a document by Louis the Pious relating to the transfer of his church to the Abbey of Sant’Antimo. In 1212, the abbot of Sant’Antimo ceded Argiano to Siena, marking the beginning of a period during which the estate passed between Sienese families. Between 1581 and 1596, the Pecci family had Villa Bellaria built, which became the centre of the estate. In the 19th century, Ersilia Caetani Lovatelli helped to raise the profile of Argiano’s wines in Italy and across Europe. The estate won a medal at the International Food Exhibition in Brussels in 1932. Argiano was one of the founding members of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino in 1967. In 1992, Noemi Marone Cinzano acquired the estate; together with the oenologist Giacomo Tachis, she launched the first Solengo vintage in 1995. André Santos Esteves acquired Argiano in 2013, and subsequently embarked on a programme to restore the buildings and carry out soil analysis. Bernardino Sani, oenologist and managing director of the estate, now oversees the winemaking process. The estate obtained organic certification between 2016 and 2021, followed by Equalitas certification in 2024.
