Histoire du domaine
Château Haut-Maurac is situated in Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc, within the Médoc appellation. Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel and Château Jean Faure, acquired the estate in 2001. The Guide Hachette des Vins described it at the time as a 22-hectare estate situated on the Garonne gravel ridge at Mazails. The estate is now part of the Les Vignes Olivier Decelle group. The SCEA Château Haut-Maurac, a wine-growing organisation based in Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc, is managed by Olivier Decelle. The sources consulted report varying areas depending on the period, ranging from 22 to 28 hectares; consequently, no current figure with sufficient consistency has been retained. The available information does not allow for the person currently and directly overseeing the winemaking process to be identified with sufficient certainty. A production of 375 hl is documented for the 2008 vintage, but this one-off figure does not allow for the establishment of a current typical annual production figure.
