Histoire du domaine
The estate traces its origins to the early 1920s through the union of the Noëllat and Barthod families, which created Domaine Barthod-Noëllat. Gaston Barthod, originally from a Jura family, married a descendant of the Noëllat family and subsequently took over management of the estate after his military service in the 1950s. His daughter Ghislaine began working closely with him during the 1980s and, along with Louis Boillot, acquired the current premises overlooking the Premier Cru Les Feusselottes in 1986. She took full reins of the estate in 1999 following her father's passing, enhancing the recognition of this property centered on the diverse terroirs of Chambolle-Musigny. Their son Clément Boillot-Barthod joined the winemaking team for the 2018 vintage and has directed it ever since, notably by reducing the proportion of new oak barrels and extending the aging period.
Aux Beaux Bruns
Aux Beaux Bruns is a climat located in the northern part of the Chambolle-Musigny vineyard, near Morey-Saint-Denis. Only a portion of the lieu-dit, corresponding to its upper section, is officially delimited as a Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru; its lower section falls under the village appellation. Available institutional data generally describe the Chambolle hillside as east-facing, between 250 and 300 meters in altitude, with shallow soils over a Jurassic limestone substrate, though these characteristics are not documented separately for this exact climat.

- The name is believed to derive from a regional term for hawthorn or white thorn, "ébaupin", the toponymic evolution of which led to "Aux Beaux Bruns".

Histoire de la parcelle
Aux Beaux Bruns appears in the regulatory demarcation of climats authorized to complete the Chambolle-Musigny appellation with the Premier Cru designation, with only part of the lieu-dit classified as such. The specific premier cru area was approved by the INAO on June 1 and 2, 1988. More broadly, a 1929 court ruling defined an initial plot-by-plot delimitation of the fine wines of Chambolle-Musigny, and the appellation was subsequently recognized by decree on September 11, 1936.
