Domaine Gérard Mugneret Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes 2004 Bouteille (75cl)
The 2004 Domaine Gérard Mugneret Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes is a red Burgundy classified as a Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru. Produced from 100% Pinot Noir and old vines, it comes from the Les Charmes climat. The estate farms a 0.2455-hectare parcel there with a north-south orientation, characterized by a high stoniness and a very well-draining soil. This cuvée thus combines the identity of a Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru with a lieu-dit whose precision, minerality, controlled power, and depth are emphasized by the estate.

Histoire du domaine
The estate’s origins date back to Eugène Mugneret, who acquired the first plots whilst working as a timber merchant. His son René was the first in the family to devote himself professionally to viticulture and developed the estate’s client base. Gérard Mugneret, born in 1948, succeeded him after his brother Jean had chosen a career in the Air Force. He produced his first wines under his own name in 1973, whilst part of the production continued to bear the René Mugneret label until 1986. The winery equipment was modernised in the early 1990s, notably with the introduction of a pneumatic press. The vineyard then expanded through the acquisition of plots such as Les Gravains in Savigny-lès-Beaune and Les Charmes in Chambolle-Musigny. After a career in industry, Pascal Mugneret returned to the estate in 2004 and produced his first vintages there in 2005. Under his leadership, herbicides were phased out in 2005, synthetic products in 2010, and practices inspired by biodynamics were introduced from 2011 onwards. Pascal Mugneret is now at the helm of EARL Gérard Mugneret and oversees both vineyard management and winemaking.
Les Charmes (Chambolle Musigny)
Les Charmes is a climat of Chambolle-Musigny entirely classified as Premier Cru and officially recognized among the geographical designations of the appellation. It is located in the eastern part of the hillside, below Les Plantes and Les Feusselottes, in the northward extension of Les Amoureuses. The terrain, with a southeast exposure, combines limestone soils with alluvial and stony materials, while its geology varies within the climat, notably featuring Comblanchien limestone in its upper part.

Histoire de la parcelle
A 1929 judgment defined the Chambolle-Musigny appellation of origin and established a first plot-by-plot delimitation of the communal vineyard. The Chambolle-Musigny appellation contrôlée was then recognized in 1936, with Les Charmes listed among its climats classified as Premier Cru. In 2013, the INAO approved the mapping of the final delimitation of the commune's Premier Cru classified climats.
