Domain Mugnier Chambolle Musigny Les Fuees 2012 Bottle (75cl)
The 2012 Domaine JF Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées is a red Burgundy wine made from 100% Pinot Noir, produced by Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation. This cuvée comes from the Les Fuées parcel, located on the border of the Bonnes-Mares area, on the slope north of the village. Planted in 1960, this 71-are plot yields a limited production. The estate describes Les Fuées as a premier cru with a more mineral and earthy structure, driven by black fruits, with a structured, ample, and deep palate.

Histoire du domaine
The estate was founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier, a liqueur maker in Dijon. By the early 20th century, it owned nearly twenty hectares in Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges, following the acquisition of the Clos de la Maréchale in 1902. Until 1949, wine production was carried out alongside the family’s liqueur business. From 1878 onwards, the wines were marketed under the Château Chambolle-Musigny label. In 1950, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, the founder’s great-grandson, sold the liqueur business and leased the vineyard – by then reduced in size due to inheritance – to a wine merchant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. He resumed direct management of the Chambolle vineyards from 1978. Upon his death in 1985, his son Frédéric Mugnier took full responsibility for the family estate. In 2004, the reintegration of the Clos de la Maréchale, previously leased out, increased the estate’s size from 4 to 14 hectares. The estate is now owned by Jocelyne and Frédéric Mugnier.

Histoire de la parcelle
The vineyard lieux-dits of Chambolle-Musigny have been documented and progressively classified since the Middle Ages, though no medieval records specific to Les Fuées have been found in the sources consulted. Jules Lavalle classified Les Fuées among the "Premières Cuvées" in his 1855 work. The climat was subsequently selected among the sites authorized to bear the official "premier cru" designation, a category established in Chambolle-Musigny in 1943.
