Domaine Macle Cotes du Jura Blanc 1990 Bouteille (75cl) ETA
The 1990 Domaine Macle Côtes du Jura Blanc is a white wine from the Jura produced by Domaine Macle in the Côtes du Jura appellation. It is a blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Savagnin. True to the estate's traditional style, this cuvée combines the two Jura grape varieties and benefits from ageing under a veil of yeast (sous voile), giving the wine a quintessential Jura white wine expression.

Histoire du domaine
The family-run Macle estate was founded in Château-Chalon in 1850. In the 1960s, Jean Macle took over a mixed-farming holding comprising around 1.5 hectares of vines. Together with his wife Élyane, he gradually expanded the vineyard and shifted the focus of the business towards winegrowing. The estate then grew to 12 hectares, divided between Savagnin in the Château-Chalon appellation and Chardonnay in the Côtes-du-Jura. Laurent Macle began working with his father in 1990 and took over the running of the estate in 2003. He subsequently reduced the area under cultivation to around 10 hectares, partly as part of the process of replanting the vines and transitioning to organic farming. The conversion to organic farming began in 2015 and the first certified organic bottles were released in 2019. Jean Macle, a leading figure in the wine-growing community of Château-Chalon, passed away in 2021. In January 2025, Carmen Macle joined her father at the estate; Laurent Macle remains in charge of winemaking.
