Domaine Jean-Pierre Mugneret
Jean-Pierre Mugneret was a Burgundian estate based in the hamlet of Concoeur, within the Nuits-Saint-Georges area, descended from the Mugneret family of Vosne-Romanée. The estate ceased production after the 2005 vintage, following Jean-Pierre Mugneret’s retirement, and no longer exists as an independent wine-growing estate.
Histoire du domaine
The EARL Jean-Pierre Mugneret had been based in Concoeur, a hamlet attached to Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1970 and situated in the Hautes-Côtes, since 1970. Jean-Pierre Mugneret was a descendant of the Mugneret family of Vosne-Romanée. A former photographer, he also designed a model of a wine barrel, according to the Guide Hachette des Vins. The estate produced wines from the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits appellations, amongst others. Jean-Pierre Mugneret retired after the 2005 vintage, which was the estate’s last production under his name. A prefectural decree of July 2005 authorised EARL André Nudant to take over 3.17 hectares of vineyards previously managed by EARL Jean-Pierre Mugneret, in the communes of Flagey-Échezeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Boncourt-le-Bois. EARL Jean-Pierre Mugneret was subsequently dissolved, with the dissolution published in the BODACC in 2016. The available information does not allow us to establish with sufficient certainty the current status of all the plots, nor to identify a current owner or winemaker for this former entity.
Échezeaux (Vosne Romanée)
Échezeaux is a Grand Cru appellation physically delimited within the Côte de Nuits, located entirely within the commune of Flagey-Echézeaux, between Clos de Vougeot and the Premiers Crus of Vosne-Romanée. It brings together eleven climats and features more diverse topography and soils than the neighboring Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru. The vineyard ranges in altitude from 230 meters to just over 300 meters, with a slope reaching 13% mid-slope. Bajocian marls, locally covered with scree, gravel, red alluvium, and yellowish marls, form a complex mosaic.

Histoire de la parcelle
The winegrowing development of Échezeaux is associated with the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux in the 12th and 13th centuries, within the same historical complex as Clos de Vougeot. The Échezeaux Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée was recognized by the decree of July 31, 1937, published on August 11, 1937.
