Histoire du domaine
The origins of the Coche-Dury estate date back to the interwar period in Meursault. For a long time, a significant proportion of its production was sold in bulk to Burgundian wine merchants. From 1964 onwards, Georges Coche expanded the vineyard and steered the estate increasingly towards bottling on the premises. His son Jean-François subsequently took over the family business. In 1975, his marriage to Odile Dury led to the adoption of the name Coche-Dury. Jean-François gradually expanded the estate’s holdings, notably through the acquisition of plots in the climats of Meursault and in Volnay. Raphaël Coche-Dury joined the estate in 1997 and initially worked alongside his father. He is now solely responsible for the estate’s management, the running of the vineyard and the winemaking. The estate currently cultivates around 10.5 hectares under vine, with the majority of the land situated in the commune of Meursault.
Les Rougeots
Les Rougeots is a 3.13 ha climat located in the commune of Meursault and classified under the Village level of the AOC Meursault. The UNESCO candidacy dossier for the Climats de Bourgogne also lists it as a cadastral lieu-dit in section AL. A professional source describes its soil as red, visually comparable to that of Les Rugiens in Pommard, while a producer active in the climat indicates a clay-limestone soil. The east to south exposure indications found in sources are not attributed precisely enough to the entire climat to be structured as exact data.

Histoire de la parcelle
Les Rougeots is among the lieu-dits of Meursault recorded in the plot registry of the Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne world heritage property, linked to cadastral section AL. It is not part of the regulatory list of Meursault climats permitted to use the Premier Cru designation and therefore remains a Village-level climat.
