Histoire du domaine
Henri-Marc de Venoge, originally from the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, settled in Champagne in 1825. In 1837, he founded the house of Venoge & Cie in Épernay with his son Joseph. From 1838 onwards, the house used an illustrated label, which De Venoge described as the first of its kind in Champagne. Joseph de Venoge took over the family business in 1845. In 1851, the Cordon Bleu became its emblem, in reference to the River Venoge and the Order of the Holy Spirit. The ‘Cuvée des Princes’ was created in 1858 as a tribute to the Princes of Orange. Gaëtan de Venoge became chairman in 1866 and notably expanded exports to the United States. The house was one of the founding members of the Syndicat des Grandes Marques de Champagne in 1882. In 1898, Yvonne de Venoge and her husband Adrien de Mun took over the management of the company; Henri de Manneville and then Jacques de Nadaillac ran it from 1922 to 1958. De Venoge joined the Boizel Chanoine Champagne group in 1998 – which has since become Lanson-BCC – and moved to 33 Avenue de Champagne in Épernay in 2015.
Cuvée des Princes

Histoire de la cuvée

It is associated with the Club des Princes and a decanter inspired by the customs of the European aristocracy of the early 20th century. However, official sources diverge on its creation date, indicating either 1858 or 1864 depending on the pages.
