Histoire du domaine
The property long belonged to the Reiffers family, present at Côte de Baleau since 1643. Sophie Fourcade, née Reiffers, took over its management in 1998 and led quality-driven work that resulted in the estate entering the Saint-Émilion classification in 2012, in the Grand Cru Classé category. In 2013, Château Côte de Baleau was acquired by Philippe Cuvelier and his family, already owners of Clos Fourtet and Château Poujeaux, as part of the buyout of several properties belonging to the Reiffers family. Under the impetus of Matthieu Cuvelier, restructuring work was subsequently carried out in the vineyard and buildings. Côte de Baleau was once again retained among the Grands Crus Classés in the Saint-Émilion classification published in 2022.
