Histoire du domaine
The Confuron-Cotetidot estate was founded by Jack Confuron in 1964 in Vosne-Romanée. Its name combines that of Jack Confuron with that of his wife, Bernadette Cotetidot, whom he married in the 1960s. The Confuron family has a long-standing presence in the Côte de Nuits vineyards and has, in particular, devoted itself to the selection and propagation of vines. Jack Confuron is described in the Guide Hachette as a nephew of Henri Jayer. The estate is now run by his sons Jean-Pierre and Yves Confuron, both oenologists. The estate cultivates 11.4 hectares of vines, comprising 10.7 hectares of red and 0.7 hectares of white, without purchasing any grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand and the vines have a reported average age of 65 years. Winemaking techniques rely in particular on the use of whole bunches, long vatting periods and extended ageing in barrels.
