Clos Brun Mazeyres 2004
Clos Brun Mazeyres 2004 is a red wine from Pomerol in the Bordeaux wine region. It combines Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This cuvée comes from a 1.5-hectare vineyard belonging to the Vedrenne family, spread across two small parcels on the low terrace of Pomerol. The sandy and gravelly soils rest on a crasse de fer (iron pan) subsoil. The estate indicates a usual blend predominantly of Merlot complemented by Cabernet Franc, with manual harvesting and partial aging in oak barrels.

Histoire du domaine
The history of Clos Brun Mazeyres is linked to the Vedrenne family, originally from Corrèze. In 1906, the brothers Joannet and Firmin Vedrenne set up a wine merchant’s business under the name Vedrenne Frères, travelling merchants operating mainly in northern France and Belgium. In 1924, the two brothers settled in Libourne after parting ways by mutual agreement. One then acquired Clos La Ganne and the other Clos Brun Mazeyres, two estates in Pomerol. Following the death of Joannet Vedrenne in 1943, his wife Élise continued to run the business. Their son René took over in 1946 and expanded the family wine merchant business. He also restructured the Clos Brun Mazeyres vineyard. Xavier Magen joined the family business in 1995, before buying it in 2002. Clos Brun Mazeyres remains listed today by Maison Vedrenne as one of the family’s estates, owned by the Vedrenne family.
