Histoire du domaine
Château Rouget is one of Pomerol’s oldest estates; records attest to its existence as early as the beginning of the 18th century. At that time, the estate was associated with the Bayonne family, who are credited with building the château. In 1868, Rouget was listed amongst Pomerol’s finest wines. Marcel Bertrand acquired the estate in 1925, then entrusted its management to his nephew François-Jean Brochet in 1974. The Labruyère family bought Château Rouget in 1992, with the aim of restructuring the vineyard and restoring the technical facilities. The winery was completely renovated in 2001 to facilitate vinification by individual plots. Since 2008, Édouard Labruyère has been at the helm of the estate. He works alongside Antoine Ribeiro, the estate manager, who has also been recognised as a cellar master by *Le Figaro Vin*.
