Histoire du domaine
In the Middle Ages, the lands of Poujeaux formed a seigneury under the jurisdiction of Latour Saint-Mambert, later to become Château Latour. During the 19th century, the estate gained its independence and began producing its own wines. Subsequent inheritances led to the fragmentation of the property during the first half of the 20th century. The Theil family played a decisive role in the restoration and development of the vineyard during the 20th century. In January 2008, the château was acquired by the Cuvelier family, who also own Clos Fourtet in Saint-Émilion. Philippe Cuvelier and his son Matthieu retained the estate’s staff, who were then led by Christophe Labenne, the grandson of the former owners. Matthieu Cuvelier is now the estate manager and Christophe Labenne is the director. Laurent Perroteau is the estate’s cellar master.
