Château Magrez Fombrauge 2010 is a red wine from Saint-Émilion, classified as a Grand Cru Classé, produced in Bordeaux by Château Magrez Fombrauge. It blends Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Wine Advocate awards it 95/100 with a drinking window from 2018 to 2043; James Suckling scores it 94/100, while Jancis Robinson gives it 15/20, to be enjoyed from 2018 to 2024. Histoire du domaine
The name Magrez-Fombrauge first appeared as the name of a single-vineyard cuvée associated with Château Fombrauge, a property acquired by Bernard Magrez in 1999. According to historical sources on Fombrauge, the first vintage of this cuvée was produced in 2002. At that time, it was sourced from a small plot situated on the archaeological site of Niord, in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse. In 2011, the brand officially became Château Magrez-Fombrauge, with its own separate winemaking facility, distinct from Château Fombrauge. *La Revue du vin de France* described it at the time as a micro-vineyard that did not purchase grapes, with an annual production of around 4,000 bottles. Bernard Magrez remains the owner. Recent technical information published by Bordeaux Tradition states that Gérald Martinez is in charge of the winery, as part of a team that includes, notably, Frédéric Chabaneau as vineyard manager and Olivier Desmond as estate manager.
