Histoire du domaine
The origins of the vineyards that make up the estate can be traced in part back to the Chambaud family’s ownership in the 18th century. Through marriage in 1875, they passed into the Garitey family. In 1917, Madame Edouard Loubat, née Garitey and also owner of Château Pétrus, acquired the estate. She expanded it, notably with plots near the church in Pomerol, including the Clos des Grandes Vignes. On her death in 1961, the estate was passed on to her niece, Lily Lacoste. Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix took over the lease in 1962 and have been responsible for its management and winemaking ever since. The estate was subsequently bequeathed to the Foyer de Charité in Châteauneuf-de-Galaure. After more than sixty years under lease, Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix became the owners in 2024. Eric Murisasco is responsible for the technical management of the Moueix family estates.
