Histoire du domaine
The history of the site is intertwined with that of the Soussans seigneury, which, according to the estate, was established in 1098. The fortified house of La Tour de Mons is said to have been built in the 13th century by the lords of Blanquefort. In 1623, Pierre de Mons came into possession of the estate through marriage, gave it his name and played a part in the development of its vineyard. The property remained in his family until the end of the 20th century. In 1995, the estate was acquired jointly by the Crédit Agricole group and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. The vineyard was expanded in 2001 through the acquisition of the neighbouring estate, Château Marsac Séguineau. Crédit Agricole became the sole owner in 2015, before selling La Tour de Mons to the Perrodo family in 2020. The estate is now managed by Marjolaine Maurice de Coninck, managing director and oenologist; Claude Gros acts as a consultant oenologist.
