Histoire du domaine
The documented history of Château L’Arrosée dates back at least to 1839, when Guillaume Delsol bequeathed his estate, including the vineyard, to the daughters of Edmé Cerveau. In 1849, Thérèze Cerveau, wife of Guérin, received a property then comprising 5.5 hectares, farm buildings and vineyards. Her husband, Jean Guérin, subsequently expanded it by purchasing neighbouring plots. In 1863, the estate was acquired by Pierre Magne, then a political figure of the Second Empire, together with Pierre Magne and Louis-Jean Réquier. L’Arrosée was listed amongst the Saint-Émilion premiers crus in the 1868 edition of *Bordeaux et ses vins* by Cocks and Féret. In 1911, the estate passed to the Dupuch family, before Pierre Rodhain took it over in 1938. François Rodhain took over the management in 1956 and introduced on-estate winemaking, whereas previously the harvest had been delivered to the Saint-Émilion cooperative winery. Roger Caille and his son Jean-Philippe purchased the estate in 2002 and undertook work on the vineyard and in the winery. In 2013, Château L’Arrosée was acquired by Château Quintus, part of Domaine Clarence Dillon, and its 9.5 hectares were incorporated into the Quintus vineyard; production of the Château L’Arrosée and Château L’Armont labels was subsequently discontinued.
