Château Haut Tropchaud 2003
Château Haut Tropchaud 2003 is a Pomerol red wine from Bordeaux, produced by Château Haut Tropchaud. This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc comes from vineyards located on the high terrace of Tropchaud and Trotanoy, on a complex of gravel, clay, and ironpan. The 2003 vintage was aged in oak barrels. It displays aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and roasted notes, with a supple palate supported by refined tannins.

Histoire du domaine
Château Haut-Tropchaud is a Pomerol estate run by the Coudroy family as part of SCEA Vignobles Michel Coudroy et succ. Michel Coudroy acquired the property in 1987; it had previously been run by the Mathias family. The vineyard was incorporated into a group of family-owned estates also located in Montagne-Saint-Émilion, Lalande-de-Pomerol and Lussac-Saint-Émilion. Haut-Tropchaud covers an area of 2 hectares, situated on the upper terrace of Pomerol. It is planted exclusively with Merlot. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process involves maceration for around four weeks, followed by ageing in barrels. The estate is currently managed by Emmanuel Coudroy, who has been the manager of the SCEA since 2018.
