Histoire du domaine
The name Corbin refers to an ancient lieu-dit in the Saint-Émilion vineyards, attested in sources dating back to the Middle Ages, although its exact origin remains uncertain. Several owners have succeeded one another on these lands over the centuries. In the 19th century, Guillaume Ignace Bouchereau, a lawyer who went on to become a judge at the Commercial Court, played an important role in the development of the estate and the organisation of its vineyard. The present château was built in the mid-19th century. In 1986, the SMABTP group acquired Château Haut-Corbin, which at the time comprised 13 hectares. In 2010, the group went on to acquire the 15 hectares of Château Grand Corbin, previously owned by the Giraud family for around half a century, as well as the 4 hectares of the neighbouring Château Le Jurat. The consolidation of these properties under the name Château Grand Corbin was authorised in 2012. That same year, the estate was awarded the status of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, a status it retained in the 2022 classification. Laure Canu has been managing the SMABTP group’s wine estates since 2021. Since 2025, Marie Flandrin has been in charge of the estate’s day-to-day operations, both in the vineyards and in the winery, alongside Grégory Thibault, technical director of Château Cantemerle.
