Histoire du domaine
Born into a family of winegrowers in Celles-sur-Ource, Cédric Bouchard initially worked in Paris as a wine merchant and sommelier. He returned to the Aube region in 2000 to set up his own production business, Roses de Jeanne. In the early days, he cultivated, in particular, the ‘Parcelle des Ursules’ plot, planted with Pinot Noir, and had just over one hectare of vines at his disposal. At the same time, his father continued to tend vines, the wines from which were initially sold under the ‘Inflorescence’ label. Over the following years, Cédric Bouchard gradually took over or incorporated some of these family plots into his business. Since 2014, the cuvées have been marketed under the single name Roses de Jeanne. The estate vinifies its wines separately by plot, grape variety and vintage, producing single-vineyard champagnes. Cédric Bouchard remains the owner-winemaker and oversees the winemaking process himself.
La Boloree
La Bolorée is a single-plot Champagne crafted exclusively from Pinot Blanc, a rare grape variety in the region. The cuvée comes from a small south-facing plot planted with old vines, and stands out within Roses de Jeanne for its single-varietal identity and very limited production.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- The name comes from the La Bolorée plot from which the cuvée is produced.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2005
- Style of the cuvée
- A dry, full-bodied and vinous Champagne, combining power, energy and a creamy or silky texture, with a fruity and mineral expression characteristic of Pinot Blanc.
- Position within the range
- Rare single-plot micro-cuvée, the sole expression of Pinot Blanc in the Roses de Jeanne range.
Histoire de la cuvée
Cédric Bouchard produced La Bolorée for the first time with the 2005 vintage, from a plot of Pinot Blanc planted in 1960. It has since been marketed as a distinct wine under the Roses de Jeanne label.
