Les Forts de Latour wines are mainly reds made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes. They are made with meticulous attention to detail, although the maturation in French oak barrels and the aging period may be shorter than for Château Latour's main wine. Although Les Forts de Latour are considered the "second wine," they are nonetheless high quality wines. They offer a rich, complex taste experience, characterized by aromas of black fruit, cassis, wood and spice, as well as a well-balanced tannic structure. They are appreciated for their elegance and ability to age, although often not as long as the château's main wine.Forts de Latour offer wine lovers a glimpse of Château Latour's exceptional quality and reputation at a relatively lower cost than their main wine. They are regarded as quality wines by connoisseurs the world over, and are highly sought-after
